MSAKI IN CONCERT - ZANELIZA: BACK TO THE PROMISE

Sometimes the river runs dry and doesn't make it to the sea. 

That doesn't mean we ever cease to be connected to the source.

One thing we can never loose is hope so we need ways to remember. 

To Remembering Promises born in the dark warmth of dreams. 

To remember the water is also close and therefore so is redemption. 

Join us for two nights of wading in the waters of remembrance and redemption. 

MSAKI is a singer songwriter, composer and curator of music and art events focused on alternative black artists. Her fragmented training includes graphic design, fine art, film photography and curation. She is signed to her own label Oneshushuday Artistry through which she released her EP Nalithemba in 2013 and SAMA nominated debut album Zaneliza in 2016. She has received a Standard Bank Standing Ovation Award for works staged at the National Arts Festival in 2017 as well as a Gold Award at the Cape Town Fringe. Her interest in theatre, visual art and poetry have seen her collaborate with Mandi Vundla, Francois Knoetze, Gabriel Goliath the current Young Artist of the year for Visual Art. 

Her collaboration include songs with Black Coffee (nominated for a SAMA), Black Motion, Mobi Dixon, Kid X, Revolution, and her song with Prince Kaybee 'Fetch your Life' is the get-up-and-go-song that dominated the 2019 charts. She is part an inter-generational trio with Neo Muyanga and Madala Kunene.

Untitled Basement is slowly opening again, and the unintended benefits of lockdown regulations is the ability to experience rare live music performances with limited audience numbers. The downside is that the limited capacity is unsustainable for artists, therefore we are doing 2 sets of one hour each, guests are required to book a ticket for each set, though one set is still as valuable and a rich experience as expected from Untitled Basement and the artists we feature.
