Welcome to the Fifth Week of the Hardware Centre Summer Expo!
The team from Hardware Centre decided that the worldwide COVID pandemic is not going to stop us from hosting our legendary Summer Expo in 2020. With the government directives and rules regarding events limiting us on the number of customers who will be able to attend, we had to be very creative in how we are to host the event.
We decided that in this case, more is better. Why not host the Summer Expo over a period of 6 weeks instead of the 1 weekend?
Hardware Centre will host a Power Tool demonstration as well as a workshop every weekend from 7 November 2020 to 12 December 2020. For more information on the schedule of events please keep an eye out for our newsletters and visit the Calendar section on our website!
For Week 5 of our Summer Expo the team from Hardware Centre, in partnership with the team from Festool South Africa, is proud to introduce the magnificent Festool TKS 80 Table Saw, with SawStop technology! See this saw for the first time in South Africa, with demonstrations on the incredible accuracy and functionality of this machine. Perfection, as you would expect from Festool!
Further to the main event, we will also introduce a new player in the Cordless Power Tool market. Worx tools have become a favorite amongst woodworkers with their workshop accessories, like the Pegasus Portable Work Table and the Jawhorse. The brand is now expanded in the South African market, with the introduction of a range of cordless tools from their stable. Come and experience the full range that this new kid on the block will offer!
One of the challenging choices in woodworking is without a doubt the type of finish you would apply to your completed masterpiece. How do you choose between the different types of oils, polishes, waxes and many more products that are available? With this in mind, we decided to put the ball squarely in the court of our local woodworking expert, Bunny Croucamp. Bunny will present a workshop of wood finishing, where he will delve into the pros and cons of the different finishing techniques, and his recommendations for achieving top results.
The workshop will start at 09:00 to 12:00.
To compliment the workshop we will also have the experts from Howard, Rystix and Woodoc in store where they will display and demonstrate the different products available from their stables. These experts will be available from 08:00 to 13:00 to showcase the products and answer any questions you might have on their products.
