WHO ARE WE?

Gabriella Centre for Physically & Intellectually Challenged Children & Young Adults in Somerset West is a Non Profit Organization offering Residential Care and Day Care for children & young adults with special needs such as Cerebral Palsy. We have maintained a high standard of care since June 1998 in a home from home environment along with unlimited patience and unconditional love.

WHAT WE DO

We offer a holistic approach to therapeutic, sensory and educational programs individually designed for the specific needs of each child or adult ensuring that the lives of our Day Care & Residential Clients are enriched.

We strongly believe that education should not be limited to age and this is why we continue with goal orientated basic educational programs no matter the age or ability of our clients. Many centres can only cater for those under 18years old; we however do not have an age limit.

We offer intensive Physiotherapy combined with Occupational Therapy aspects by our in-house Physiotherapist as most of our clients have Cerebral Palsy.

Apart from offering programs we are a home away from home. Our 24/7 365 days a year residential section cares for 14 permanent residents.

We have the most incredible team of staff consisting of Nurses and Caregivers who have been trained on how to correctly care for those with special needs and they also treat our clients with respect, dignity and unconditional love as we are after all, one big family. We disliked the idea of “institutions” and this is why we created a safe haven giving our clients parents peace of mind and a sense of relief that their children would be well taken care of and are receiving the very best care and unconditional love that they so deserve.

Our vision has always been to inspire, respect and accomplish equality for physically and intellectually challenged persons. Our goal remains unchanged; we strive to do everything we can to assist these courageous people in their challenging climb in life, helping them reach their highest potential.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US

As a Non Profit Organization we rely greatly on the assistance from the community in order to provide the best possible care and quality therapy for children with life changing challenges.

Gabriella Centre is a registered NPO with a PBO Section 18A TAX certificate which means that all donations are TAX deductible and can be claimed back from SARS.
