We are an NPO organization that caters to the needs of severe or multiple disabled children. Children with such varied syndromes such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome/ Gauchers Syndrome/ Angelmans Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy & Genetic Disorders are among some of the disabilities that we cater for at the Centre.    

We are viewed as one of the leading Special Needs Centres in KZN. The Centre provides education for children that do not meet the criteria for remedial and/or mainstream education. Every child is assessed by a Speech and Language Pathologist, a Physiotherapist, an Occupational Therapist and Educational & Remediation Therapist. An Individual Educational Program is the designed to meet their specific needs.                                                                                                                                                                                    

The mission of Whizz Kidz is to facilitate the holistic development of children with Special Needs.             

Whizz Kidz Special Needs Centre has been delivering educare for children for 18 years despite the lack of a Government subsidy. We measure our success by the improvement in children in terms of motoric, cognitive and social development, measured using Independent Education Assessment Program Ratings.

We currently have 40 children with an Ethnic Breakdown as follows:

We are currently looking for funding & sponsorship to assist us in our extortionate running costs in the absence of government subsidies. As we are a registered NPO we are able to provide you with Section 18A receipts for tax purposes, and all our Audited Financial Documents are available upon request.

On the 31^st of December 2020, our school was damaged by a severe storm. Damage that we simply cannot afford to repair. Our only jungle gym was damaged, our roof was damaged, most of the plants in our gardens washed away, the awnings were damaged and the general chaos that was caused by trees blowing over and heavy rain has been almost impossible to bring back into control. We were saving money to purchase two air-conditioning units for two classrooms that have no air-conditioning but even this money has now gone to repairs. 

As we have no Government assistance we rely heavily on donations and sponsorships. Covid-19 has negatively impacted many of our regular sponsors and we are now struggling to stay afloat.

Aside from our wish list, any and all financial assistance or help with fundraising events is greatly appreciated.
