Why did you enter the competition?

I’ve never taken part in something like this before and I wanted to try something new that wasn’t 100% in my comfort zone. I also love being able to sit down while other people give me makeovers so the photoshoot was a huge highlight of my year so far.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

I would have to say my eyes and eyebrows. They really are my most defining feature and even without makeup they bring all my other features together. The fact that they are both dark colours also help give my face a grounded and earthy look.

What have you learned from your partner?

Definitely confidence. Stefan is a very confident person and it’s an aura that is very contagious.

Why did you enter the competition?

To be 100% honest and transparent, I always wanted to be a part of Mr and Miss WG, but never had the guts to try it out, because it felt like I never stood a chance. But as the auditions and interviews started rolling in, all of my family and friends were on my case and encouraged me to enter for the show.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

What I feel natural about my beauty is my confidence and my "wanting to brighten up someone's day". I might come off as always frowning and angry-looking, but infact, i'm the exact opposite. I'm fun, energetic and the best "hype-man" you'll ever meet!

What have you learned from your partner?

My partner... one word: AMAZING! Nadia is one of the most joyful and happiest souls I've ever met. We both went into this project with an open mind, eventhough a few ideas we pitched cause a few laughs and chuckles- we managed to create something amazing with a powerful simbolic meaning. Nadia showed me to co-operate a little bit more and to step out of the stupid box I was stuck inside. Working together is better than working alone.

Why did you enter the competition?

I entered Mr & Miss WG, cause I believe that I bring not just looks to the table, but an infectious personality. So, coming back to the question. I signed up to have a fun time and make memories.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

For me, I wouldn’t say my “natural” beauty is all in looks, it’s how you portray yourself and how you live. If you can be one with yourself, then you’ll be naturally beautiful.

What have you learned from your partner?

Zabeth and I have somewhat of a love-hate relationship. We have lots of fun while rehearsing and some frustrating moments as well.

Why did you enter the competition?

I’ve always wanted to enter since grade 8, but never had the confidence. But as I’ve grown and became the confident person I am, I hopped on the opportunity.
 

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

I feel like I am naturally myself around people, unfiltered and always real. And I feel like that reflects my true inner beauty.
 

What have you learned form your partner?

I’ve learnt to always be my true self in all aspects (and a few magic tricks I might add ).

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

My smile is automatically a reflection of my mischievous side as well as my eyes reflect my unique attributes

Hoekom het jy vir die kompetisie ingeskryf?

Ek het ingeskryf om FUN te hê! Ek wil deel wees van die celebration van al die finaliste. In vandag se lewe is alles so 'n gejaag. I think we have to pause for a moment and celebrate those around you and also yourself! Ek is mal daaroor om saam met mense nuwe dinge aan te pak! Hierdie proses is waar my persoonlikheidstipe thrive! Ek geniet dit so om elke ander finalis op 'n persoonlike vlak te leer ken.

Wat is natuurlik aan jou skoonheid?

Ek glo dat my skoonheid van binne af uitstraal. Ek voel op my mooiste wanneer ek skaterlag. Ek het 'n borrelende persoonlikheid. Ek glo dat jou skoonheid na vore kom wanneer jy in jou eie vel kan staan en self wéét dat jy volmaak is. Nie omdat jy dink jy is mooier as die persoon langs jou nie, maar omdat die Skepper van die heelal nie foute maak nie! Beauty is found in the absence of comparison.

Wat het jy van jou metgesel geleer?

Stiaan is al deur my hele hoërskoolloopbaan een van my beste pelle. Ek en stiaan deel daai tipe vriendskap waar hy my sal tackle of aanval met 'n watergun (sonder enige genade!), maar deur hierdie proses het ek 'n ander kant van hom gesien. Hy het tyd gemaak om saam met my deel te wees van die proses. Stiaan sal sonder enige twyfel opofferings maak vir mense vir wie hy omgee. En wanneer hy genoeg energie het, gebruik hy dit om dit lekker te maak vir mense rondom hom. Hy is baie onselfsugtig.

Hoekom het jy vir die kompetisie ingeskryf?

Ek het vir Mnr en Mej WG ingeskryf om net n slag iets aan te pak wat buite my gemaksone is. Ek het dit gesien as n geleentheid wat ek met beide my hande moet aangryp en die belangrikste van alles om myself net te geniet!

Wat is natuurlik aan jou skoonheid?

Die skakerings van my bruin en groen oë.

Wat het jy van jou metgesel geleer?

Jané het respek vir haar medemens met n omgee hart. Sy is iemand wat n groot glimlag op jou gesig kan sit! Jané staan op vir wat reg en verkeerd is en is 'n spontane dame met n sprankelende geaardheid.

Hoekom het jy vir die kompetisie ingeskryf?

Ek het nie net vir die kompetisie ingeskryf om my eie gemaksone te verlaat nie, maar om ander te help om meer gemaklik te wees met wie en wat hulle is. My mikpunt is om liefde en vriendelikheid oral te versprei

Wat is natuurlik aan jou skoonheid?

Almal sê altyd dat ek mooi oë en sproete het, maar as jy my vra, sal ek eerlik sê dat my natuurlike skoonheid net is dat ek rerig nie omgee nie. Ek lewe elke dag tot sy beste! Ek laat nie ander se opinies oor my lewe my negatief beïnvloed nie.

Wat het jy van jou metgesel geleer?

Benard het my al baie dinge in die lewe geleer, maar as ek nou aan een moet dink is dit om bietjie te "let go". Ek is nie n mens wat altyd die reëls volg nie, maar hy het my geleer om fun te hê!

Hoekom het jy vir die kompetisie ingeskryf?

Ek het ingeskryf, want ek hou daarvan om nuwe geleenthede aan te gryp en myself te verbeter op platforms soos die wat as 'n challenge gesien word vir seuns.

Wat is natuurlik aan jou skoonheid?

Baie mense vra hoe lank ek in die oggend aan my hare spandeer, maar eerlikwaar staan ek net op maak dit nat en laat dit droog word soos dit wil.

Wat het jy van jou metgesel geleer?

Ek het geleer dat Jumé verskriklik baie goed kan aanvat. Ek wens om tydbestuur te kan hê

Why did I enter the competition?

I saw it as an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone (being on stage in front of people) and try something new. I saw it as a way of meeting new people and connecting more to the people around me.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

Natural beauty is defined as your physical characteristics being attractive, but looking inward I feel you find how beautiful someone truly is. I’m someone with a very compassionate heart and an open mind to accepting others. Considering myself beautiful could be a cliché but looking back on how I viewed myself in the earlier years of high school I feel I’ve grown to accept my own skin and all its perfect imperfections

What have you learned from your partner?

How to relax and not take every situation in life so seriously, also that I really enjoy the partnership. I’ve been so used to working alone on everything but having a partner that creates inside jokes with me at practice and high-fives me every time we get a sequence correct truly is an amazing experience to have and one that I will cherish even after the show.

Why did you enter the competition?

I wanted to try something new and get out of my comfort zone. I’ve never done something like this before. I just want to have fun and enjoy myself.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

I would say my face because that's the first thing people see when they look at me and that I'm a loving and caring person.

What have you learned from your partner?

She is a fun and genuine person that is easy to get along with and she makes this experience more fun for me.

Why did you enter the competition?

I decided to enter because I want to use the opportunity to improve my self-confidence and to help more people to have confidence in themselves no matter where they come from. I knew that by entering I would be stepping out of my comfort zone to grow as an individual. Growth can only happen when you step out of your comfort zone.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

Natural beauty is not having perfect eyes, hair, or lips, natural beauty comes from within. The fact that I can freely be myself makes my beauty feel natural. As long as you're taking care of yourself and doing your very best, you will never have a reason not to feel beautiful.

What have you learned from your partner?

I've learned the importance of teamwork. Working together gives the opportunity for more ideas to arise. I've also learned that it's important to communicate with each other. Working with Jade helped me to see things from his point of view. He's definitely not afraid of a challenge and a blast to work with.

Why did you enter this competition?

I entered this competition because there are so many things you do not know about yourself, your leadership, your strengths, what you lack. This competition is a gateway for me, to be on stage, to give back, and to learn of everything I am capable of. I do not see this as a competition but as an experience to be the best version you can be.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

I'd have to say my smile, without a doubt, because I believe that no matter what life throws at me I will always face it with my smile, to me it comes naturally.

What have you learned from your partner?

I learned that beauty does lie in the eye of the beholder.. not is she only beautiful from the outside, but she has beauty within.

Hoekom het jy vir die kompetisie ingeskryf?

Dis baie ironies, want toe ek in graad 8 hierdie ongelooflike ervaring ervaar het, het ek myself belowe om dit nog 'n keer te doen. Ek kan aan soveel goeie herinneringe dink van laas keer tot ek deel was van hierdie gleentheid. En natuurlik is dit die perfekte plek om nog baie meer te maak.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

I’m a social butterfly so my confidence and self-love are the only way through life. If you are going to worry about what other people think about you, you are never going to be confident or feel beautiful. Love yourself!

Wat het jy van jou metgesel geleer?

Ek het van Daniel geleer dat jou eerste indruk die belangrikste is. Die atmosfeer wat jy skep is hoe mense jou gaan onthou.

Why did I enter the competition?

I originally wasn't going to enter the competition but then my class (11e1) motivated and encouraged our whole class to enter. Not everyone entered but then I decided to enter and boom... Turns out I'm a finalist.

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

I think my eyes are really nice. I am very blessed with the colour eyes I got. And I also think my personality is very outgoing. I love being on stage performing anything really and it's just extremely fun. It's my passion and I love doing things in front of an audience.

What have I learnt from my partner?

What I've learnt from my partner is that creativity isn't a competition. Just be yourself

Hoekom het jy vir die kompetisie ingeskryf?

Memories! Op die ou einde van die dag gaan dit nie oor wie wen nie, maar watter herinneringe en vriendskappe jy saam met jou vat. "The best thing about memories is making them". Ek het geweet ek gaan nuwe lesse leer en myself verbeter. Ek glo daarin dat jy elke geleentheid wat na jou kant toe kom, met albei hande, moet aangryp en elke dag iets nuuts probeer. Ek wou nuwe verhoudings bou en myself beter leer ken.

What have you learned from your partner?

Dylan has taught me to appreciate your journey, and that is exactly what he does. Dit is veels te maklik om bekommerd te wees oor die toekoms. As mense te vasgevang word in wat als kan skeefloop of wat nog moet gebeur, neem jy nie die tyd om die hede te geniet nie. Jy weet nooit waar jy gaan opeindig nie. Therefore you should make every moment count and not take life TOO seriously. Be happy for this moment, for this moment is your life.

Why did you enter the competition?

I wasn't planning on entering the competition. In all honesty, I'm shocked that I made it past preliminaries. It started as a dare amongst my friends and now I'm here!

What do you feel is natural about your beauty?

My eyebrows. Definitely my eyebrows. I mean they look as though they were carved by the hands of God.

What have I learned from my partner?

She wanted me to say that I learned that when it's time to work we work and we do it well but if you ask me I learned how to stress about everything because of her.
