ABOUT

Youth Sports Exelsior is a NPO based in Troyeville, Johannesburg. We started our project on the 15th March 2020, with a soccer team of about 15 boys in a parking lot and due to COVID we had to stop. We were advised that we could no longer use the parking area and had to train at Murray Park known to the community as Lovers Park, which was not very conducive for soccer training. At the end of September 2020 we had approximately 100 boys join the soccer team. We approached Troyeville Primary school at the beginning of October 2020 and the principal agreed that we could make use of the grounds. We have 7 teams our under 10's, 11's, 13's, 15's, 17's, 19's and open and more than enough substitutes for each division. What we want to achieve at Youth Sports Exelsior Academy is to teach the youth discipline, respect, honesty, being a team player and other valuable life lessons through the power of sports. Learning to take a win or loss can teach valuable lessons on sportsmanship. Every Tuesday we select a player of the week based on discipline, respect, teamwork, attitude and sportsmanship.

We started in March 2021 with the other sporting codes which is rugby, netball, basketball and volleyball.

We are in desperate need of sports equipment and sport kits.

We want to leave a legacy with a lasting and meaningful impact on our community and youth. We are committed to making sports a pleasant, safe and rewarding experience for everyone involved; through excellent coaching and sound leadership and to be recognized for providing quality programs across all age groups.
