ABOUT

Through-out the period of 2021, SA Operatunity aims to host virtual opera recitals in a documentary series setting. This project is to give a close eye in the lives of four different opera artists from different backgrounds, with access to learning and training resources available at their disposal to prepare and plan for opera recitals.

This opera documentary project will give the audience a more personal glimpse into ways opera singers rehearse for their art forms, and for the audience to get to witness the balance in fairness or resource availability between artists that are from the township areas and those in the suburb areas. During the first phase of documentary: Four artists will be followed by camera crew, recording their daily tasks, learning environments, resources available at the disposal and get a first hand experience of listening to the artist sing some of the repertoire in a mini recital at a secure venue of their choice, with a provided pianist.
