Langaville Netball - Fundrasier

About

As a former SA Netball ambassador, I believe it is my duty to mentor and teach the young aspiring netball players with the assistance of the NSA and President of the NSA. I have recently started an initiative in the community of Langaville in the East Rand, which is aimed at mentoring girls from ages 9 to 18 yrs to improve their skills in netball.

Many of these young girls come from disadvantaged backgrounds and are not exposed to the relevant information with these initiatives. I believe that many of these young girls lives can be changed for the better. As a black woman coming from a similar situation it would hurt me to see such talent go to waste. We all know that females in black communities are not exposed to grand opportunities simply because there is a lack of knowledge and less mentors.

There are a number of factors that affect the lives of young girls and I am prepared to go the extra mile to make sure that each girl in this community is educated and that they receive all the opportunities they deserve.

Negative factors affecting young black females:

  • Lack of sanitary hygiene
  • Insufficient knowledge about personal hygiene
  • Insufficient knowledge about societal issues affecting women i.e. teenage pregnancy, HIV and STI`s

Approach in eradicating negative factors:

  • Netball initiative brought to community
  • Teach young girls about personal hygiene
  • Identifying strong points and working on their weak points
  • Team building
  • Discipline
  • Time management
  • Teaching them about societal issues

With all that has been mentioned above we also need funding for the following:

  • Netball equipment
  • Sanitary towels
  • Tackies & Netball Kit

Please donate so that I can continue to make a difference in these young girls lives.
