Church has entered a new season…and so has ministry to children. Many children’s churches are rebuilding. Smaller gatherings of the saints (either in homes or more intimate spaces) are trying to understand how to embrace children during meetings; ensuring that they feel included or are growing spiritually. This process can be very daunting and difficult. If you have a heart to see our children thrive, then this workshop is the right place for you…it is a place to be refreshed, inspired, connect with other children's ministers and to hear from God for your ministry.

The workshop is on Sat 21 May 2022 from 9am - 1pm. You can either attend this workshop online (via YouTube) or in person at The Father's House Christian fellowship (Bellbusk Crescent, Vredenberg, Bellville) in Bellville. Please note that the live stream link will be available until Saturday 28 May 2022. Tickets are R100 per person and available at Quicket at https://qkt.io/gettingbacktowhatreallymatters

This workshop is for anyone working with children and who has a desire to see children walk with God. S

What is this workshop about?

Over the last few years, ministry to children has been hindered by many aspects; the biggest being factors like CoVID isolation, social distancing, lockdown, illness and much more. It is time now to reclaim what was lost, but also to move into the new things that God has for us.

During this workshop we want to examine how Presence-Based Children's ministry forms the foundation of ministry to children and how we can effortlessly build any form of children's ministry from this understanding. We will discuss how to:

• Do children's ministry from rest

• Redesign our ministry to children whilst focusing on what matters the most

• Start this transformation immediately using practical ideas.

We also believe that those ministering to children need to have a space where they can receive ministry. During the workshop, both online and onsite, there will be an opportunity for participants to receive ministry.

The speakers at the workshop is Esme Schmitt (Founder of Transformerz) and Lynette Snyman (Children's pastor at Father's House Christian Church).

Who is Esme Schmitt?

Esmé is passionate about training children and youth to become on fire revivalists who love the Presence of God, and are eager to be used by God to transform all aspects of society. She is a firm believer that children and youth do not carry a junior Holy Spirit and are used by God in many powerful ways.

For many years, Esmé has presented, and been involved in conferences and outreaches to empower and equip children and teenagers for revival. The conferences and outreaches led her to minister in places such as Southern Africa, Gabon, North and South America, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden and Germany.

Esmé believes that the church needs a new wineskin to raise and nurture kid revivalists. She is passionate about mentoring children’s churches (children’s church pastors/ leaders/teachers) and parents to raise up a generation of kid revivalists. Esmé is currently a pastor at Journey of Grace (overseeing the children’s church) and also the Founder of Transformerz (www.transformerz.org).

Who is Lynette Snyman?

Lynette Snyman has been a children’s pastor for over 20 years. She has a passion to see children understand and walk in the love of God and who God has called them to be. She also has a passion to see children encounter God’s presence, and understand that He is real and with them. She believes that children do not have to wait until they are older to be used by God, but that God can and does use children to advance His Kingdom.

Lynette really enjoys mentoring and training people working in children’s ministry so that together we can bring God’s love to all children. She facilitates a network of children’s pastors who meet regularly to encourage and equip one another. She has written a children’s church syllabus from pre-school to grade 7 that allows children to engage with God, as well as teaching children about God. Lynette is also part of a ministry called I am Special, that works in disadvantaged schools, teaching children about who they are and who God is.
