It's our birthday!

It's been (over) a year since we launched our regular craft circle at The Ladder and we're having a craft party to celebrate. This one's for everyone: for the regulars, for the ones who pop in when they can, and for the ones who have never come but have sent one of our events to their friend and been like "Dude, we should go to this!"

Our craft circle is aimed at getting creative people in the city together to make stuff in a laid-back, fun and judgement-free space. We meet on the first and second Wednesday of every month, at The Ladder on Bree Street. Everyone is welcome; from seasoned makers to absolute beginners. Attendees bring whatever craft project they're working on at the moment and spend the evening chatting, drinking chai lattes, and making things alongside other nice people who like to make things too.

For our birthday we're having a special collaborative edition of craft night: come and make your mark on our Cape Town Craft Club quilt!

We'll provide fabric, thread, embroidery hoops, needles, scissors, fabric markers and anything else you might need to customise one or more of our quilt squares. Once each quilt square has been spruced up by local crafting legends (that's you btw) we'll stitch it into a big quilt and host a giveaway to gift it to someone in need.

If you don't feel like stitching or drawing on our group quilt that's chill; you can bring your own crafting stuff and craft as usual :-)

Bring a friend, or come alone and make some new ones

There will be treats, good music, cool and nice people, and a whole lot of delicious drinks provided by Brooks Hard Seltzer, a craft seltzer dedicated to encouraging creativity in local crafters.

Craft circles are hosted by Andie Reeves, teacher, textile artist and owner of the Cape Town Craft Club.
