Becky's million miracles

About

16 year old Rebecca Conlon from Harare Zimbabwe has always been a miracle. At just 6 weeks old, abandoned and only 1.8kg’s Becky’s new Mom was told she may not survive. She has been part of many miracles to date and at the age of 7 she made the Zimbabwe gymnastics team at 9 became National Champion and won gold in KZN and at 10 was scouted to join the SA gymnastics team under their Olympic coach. At 11 became the top gymnast in Africa for her age in two disciplines and was then selected to train in Europe in preparation for the Olympics. She later returned home not wanting to be apart from her family, Covid hit and she has just passed her O levels.

On the 6th of January 2023 Rebecca fell and broke her neck at a trampoline park in Harare when she fell through an open net and broke her neck and compressed her spinal cord. Rebecca required an emergency 7.5 hour surgery to remove the fractured C5 and C6 vertebra that was replaced with hip bone with 5 vertebra then having been fused and has now been diagnosed with C4 incomplete Quadriplegia.

After 12 days in High care Becky managed to fly to South Africa with help from community to be stabilised and get best chance of recovery at the Rehabilitation Hospital in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

Becky requires huge medical assistance in South Africa with hospital, physios, doctors and specialists in all fields to get Becky on her feet again.

We asking for any contributions for this child's injury and to get her into a better state.

BECKY'S MILLION MIRACLES is now not only about Becky, while she lies on her back she is thinking of others and how to raise help for those in need with similar injuries. Any funds raised by those who would like to allocate at least 10% for others in need would be a start of something great and that is really special.
