Strikers Youth Development Transport

Strikers Development Academy is a youth development initiative set up to enrich the lives of the youth around of our community. Strikers FC is a club that provides FREE training to boys who are either unable to afford club fee's or do not have access to school extra mural's. Strikers started with just 10 players at the inaugural practice in November 2022, and as of March 2023, we have just under 80 players made up of ages 9 to 17 years old. Our aim essentially is to create a club in which these boys feel apart of, and to create something that stops our young men from pursuing illegal activities to keep their minds occupied.

These boys are dedicated, and committed to being a part of Strikers FC.

Due to finance issues, we are unable to afford transport for our boys to and from practice. We have practice twice a week, which means that our boys have to run between 3-5 kilometres after to school to get to practice on time, and then run another 3-5 kilometres back after practice. We do not want our boys walking, especially as winter approaches and the days get darker.

After many meetings with many different transport companies, we have found a transport company who is willing to help us at a much cheaper rate than anything else we have found.

We have been quoted R200 a taxi, there and back. A taxi seats 15 boys. This means we need R1200 per practice.
