Gilson Amaral

ABOUT

Gilson Jose Amaral is a saxophonist from Mozambique, currently studying jazz at the university of Cape Town. In edition to studying at UCT, Gilson teaches beginning jazz saxophone and works as Tutor for Jazz Ear Training 1 at the University. In 2022 Gilson won 1st place at The prestigious FMR jazz competition in Cape Town. Gilson has had the privilege to play alongside many masters of the music in Africa and worldwide including: Jimmy Dludlu, Martin Zenker, Moreira Chonguica, Hotstix Mabuse, Frank Paco, Buddy Wells, Carlos Gove, Dan Shout, Ayanda Sikade, Tumi mugorosi .
