ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:

LAURA PAUNA has a long-standing reputation as a pianist having won several local and international prizes and bursaries. Most notable is the 1st prize in the Oslo-Grieg Piano 4-hand as well as the Oslo-Grieg 2 Piano Competition competition.

Her list of accolades includes the Mozartteum prize and 1st prize at the Ibla Piano Competition. Laura toured extensively raking in a long line of performances at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Salzburg Grosse Saal, Musikverrein, and other local and international concert venues.

Laura has released an album of contemporary South African Piano works entitled 'Prismatica' curated by Vektor Productions, and the album entitled 'Korana'.

She is currently collaborating with composer and pianist Christo Jankowitz.

CHRISTO JANKOWITZ is the most recent winner of the coveted Helgaard Steyn prize for music composition: As composer, he has enjoyed the patronage of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Wits Choir, the Darling Music Festival, the Odeion Quartet, the Atlantic Music Festival as well as the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust.

As a pianist, he appeared twice as a soloist with the Rand Symphony Orchestra and several times in recital situations where he collaborated with a number of singers and instrumentalists and as a chamber musician.
