ABOUT
Athi Ngcaba presents Destination Unknown, an ensemble exploring the convergence of tradition, cultural preservation; of history, identity and other related concepts from the perspective of young musicians navigating the intersection between culture, heritage, and modern life.
This exploration through improvised sound, looks into sonically carving a path to the 'Unknown'; a place of familiarity. This is an invitation in the exploration of redefinition of creative spaces, a facilitation of a deeper understanding of 'culture', exploring its relevance; whilst pushing the boundaries of what constitutes and is understood as a space and valid expression.
