As you may know by now, beloved South African broadcaster and Heart FM News Editor Roi Simpson has passed away after being in a coma for several weeks.
An asthma attack struck the 51 year old in late November, leaving him hospitalized in ICU since. The impact and strain on his family, his wife and two twin children aged 9, is beyond words. We, as his media colleagues, are reeling in shock at the loss of yet another member of the press in this year.
As a show of solidarity, we are calling on those who are able to, to please honour Roi's legacy and consider directly supporting his loved ones. Any form of contribution, whether financial, messages, prayers, or simply showing more kindness to one another in this time, is welcomed and appreciated.
