Immerse yourself in the artful world of textile creation with our Tapestry Weaving Workshop! Join us for a hands-on experience that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary flair. In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamental techniques of tapestry weaving, guided by a skilled instructor passionate about the craft.

Discover the mesmerizing interplay of colours, textures, and patterns as you learn to manipulate threads on the loom to create a masterpiece. This workshop offers a supportive and creative environment for those new to the craft. Engage in the rhythmic and meditative process of weaving, gaining insights into design principles and composition.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a beautiful tapestry sampler to take home, showcasing your newfound skills and creative expression. Join us for two days of artistic exploration, connection, and the joy of crafting your own woven masterpiece! No prior weaving experience is needed; suitable for beginners.

All materials and looms will be provided

Please bring:


  • Scissors
  • Pen/ pencil
  • Ruler
  • Fork (to use as a beater)

The second part of the workshop will take place on 28 April 10-5pm

Please note entry into Kirstenbosch is not included in the ticket price but participants only pay R60 student entrance fee on presentation of their Quicket booking ticket.
