We are excited to announce that this immensely satisfying traditional Xhosa Mat Weaving Workshop is back. It is facilitated by the master traditional weavers from @handmadetrust who will teach you how to make your own 'ikhuko' (sedge sleeping mat).
Included is an introduction to the material used – How to harvest it and its preparation methods.

The Handmade Trust is a public benefits organization committed to inspiring and reconnecting the public with traditional South African handcraft and crafting knowledge while recognizing, empowering, and celebrating the individual crafters who still practice this heritage art form.
They assist in promoting South African handcraft practices and the sustainable socio-economic empowerment of traditional crafters.
They manage both a physical and digital public platform through which the public can learn about, interact with, and celebrate the art of South African cultural heritage handcrafting.
All equipment and materials are provided.
Children are welcome but it is advised that a parent be present if their child is under the age of 13 to assist them.
