The Taste of Tzaneen


We have 3 weeks left before The Taste of Tzaneen and our programme is becoming more and more exciting. This year there is SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!


This annual event will be presented again by Iinfo Events and hosted at Fairview Hotel in Tzaneen, from Thursday 31 October to Saturday 2 November 2019.


The program is filled with a great variety of exhibitions, live performances, theatre, entertainment, discussion platforms, interviews, demonstrations, competitions, the very popular food theatre, wine, gin and craft beer tastings, deli foods, Illy Coffee Bar, cheese, clothing and jewellery, interior and exterior décor, live music and much much more!


Highlights of this year’s Taste of Tzaneen include the following:


The opening ceremony of the Taste of Tzaneen 2019: - an evening of entertainment followed by a cocktail dinner and dance - is a not to be missed event. It will be held in partnership with Iinfo, Limpopo Tourism Agency, The Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Zwakala Brewery and Tzaneen Community Forum, who will also be presenting their Heroes of Hope Awards.


The evening will be filled with fun and a magical line up of performances and entertainment, including the beautiful African vocalist - Ntsikwane, Maak my Famous runner up -Bernice West, musician and host extraordinaire - Godfrey Johnson and The Black Ties, made up of the incredibly talented Chad Saaiman, Lloyd Jansen and Keeno Lee, all known for their vocal ability, harmony, humour and music to which you can put on your dancing shoes.


It’s all in celebration of our vibrant and colourful Limpopo Province. Tickets can be bought for this prestigious event on the Taste of Tzaneen website – www.tasteoftzaneen.co.za


The SA Chefs Limpopo Committee will be hosting a senior and junior chefs’ competition, running a food theatre and prepare various mouth-watering street food options including platters and picnic food! A whole culinary experience can be expected this year at the Food Court during the Taste of Tzaneen.


“The Generals Evening”, where Roger Webster, well known historian, writer and radio presenter will share his extensive knowledge about the Anglo Boer War, the Boer Generals and the rich history of the Anglo Boer War in our area. We look forward to an enriching experience!


Then a panel discussion with the well-known Chris Burgess from Landbou Weekblad, and other high-profile stakeholders in our province, including farmers, ministers and businesspeople will be held on Friday afternoon at 14h00, discussing the topic of Agriculture in the Mopani District.


A pre-book launch and book review by the very talented writer Michele Meyer, will be conducted by Godfrey Johnson from the Urban Craft Magazine and thereafter she will entertain us with read snippets of her prose.


Highlights on the open stage on Friday will include the Choir Mania competition, where local and school choirs will showcase their talent, followed by Bernice West, Hanco, Martin Bester and The Black Ties.


On Friday theatrical and musical productions in the Limpopo Theatre Hall will include the Classical Violin Dialogue by Zanta Hofmeyr, Miro Chakaryan and pianist Olive Sandilands, Oesjaar with Jannie du Toit. The evening then takes on a different tone with Andre Schwarz, Stand-up Comedy duo Rob van Vuuren and Tats Nkonzo, and ends off with a Late-Night Cabaret with Godfrey Johnson.


On Saturday morning on the open stage Florence & Watson will present the Great Pangolin Mystery and a few other surprises which will entertain our children, followed by The Black Ties and Hanco.


The Yester Car Club exhibition, and the Lions Potjiekos Competition (which both start at 10h00) adjacent to the Rotary Beer Garden will be a lekker vibey place to be for the manne.


The SAVF lady’s tea, with Mariette Loubser – who will be performing her comedy at 10h30 on Saturday morning –

Wanneer Trou Jy - will offer lots of fun and laughter for the women of Tzaneen and it will also be an opportunity to raise funds for AniVileli and the new safe house in Tzaneen.


After the children have been entertained all morning in children’s play area, they will have the opportunity to see the popular children’s theatre production Liewe Heksie.


Helena Bester will pay a tribute to Nana Mouskouri and the showstopper comedy – Groet die Grotman by Lefra productions will be the highlights in the Limpopo Theatre Hall.


To end off this wonderful line up with a After Party Saturday early evening with Bottomless Coffee Band, Roan Ash, Lebb Simmons, Omee Otis and More2Life’s Tee Cee till late. Our After Party is really something for everyone with a mix of contemporary music, street food and chesa nyama platters. This event will be the perfect party to end the Taste of Tzaneen 2019.

Saturday – 09h00 – 18h00 R 50.00 adults / Children free

after 18h00 adults only R 150.00 / (entrance fee to the after party)
