ABOUT

Orwell’s ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four’ became his most famous and celebrated work. In the novel, Orwell depict’s a totalitarian society, which in its ideological self-understanding promotes ‘socialism,’ and whose ideological aim it is to achieve equality for its citizens. The reality, hidden behind the ideological facade, is that people are being utterly suppressed and that any manifestation of individuality, creativity, and humanity is being crushed.

In this talk, we will analyse key themes from Orwell’s novel to assist in illuminating the reality of our own situation.

Tea and Coffee will be available to purchase at the venue. For those that wish to purchase tea and coffee, please arrive 15 minutes early.
