The Guiding Principles of Burn Apply! YOU NEED TO READ THESE!!!!!

~Because this is a nature reserve home to zebra, giraffe, impala, springbok and more, the most important principle is LEAVE NO TRACE. No MOOPING (Matter Out Of Place)!!!

“Our community respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.”

~DRESS UP! Go wild and honour the spirit of RADICAL SELF-EXPRESSION! There is a massive dam open for swimming as well as showers available.

~ In the spirit of GIFTING any decorations for the event would be amazing, you are welcome to take them back after the event- their condition cannot be guaranteed.

~ PARTICIPATION this event is open up to performers artists and builders to display their talents. If you are wanting to play a music set or do some poi on the jetty over the lake, if you do body art, drum circles, offer some yoga, etc, email [email protected]

~ We welcome COMMUNAL EFFORT anyone wanting to get involved in the setting up of the event on the morning is greatly appreciated. If you wanting to do an energy exchange instead of purchasing a ticket, this is possible but please email!!!!!!!!!!!

[email protected]

~ IMMEDIACY, share the event, invite friends, take a few pics on the day, but afterwards put the phone down and enjoy where you are. This venue was specifically chosen for the fact that it is a secluded natural spot and there is accommodation on site. So you don't have to stress during the event about driving home after.

~ RADICAL INCLUSION This is a chance to bring along your Burn curious friends who are scared of of the real thing by the toilets and no water ;) But this leads into the next principle...

~ EACH ONE TEACH ONE, a few of the visitors might not be as well acquainted with these principles. Please help us enforce these if you see anyone who needs some guidance about kindness to others or the environment.

~There are no rangers or lifeguards, this means hardcore RADICAL SELF RELIANCE. The lake is massive and used for many swimming races- you are welcome to swim but it is at own risk.

~This is a nature reserve run on the entrance fee of R50 that is where CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY comes in. You will need to pay this fee on the day at the Activity Centre, where you will present your ticket and get your wrist band.

~ DECOMMODIFICATION please don't bring in any food or drinks into the event, there are two restaurants and bars on the property. Also if you could leave branding at home, let's get as close to burn as possible. Barefeet will love it here!!!
